Every breeding decision at Poodles of the Pantheon reflects our dedication to producing standard poodles of sound temperament and correct structure. We maintain rigorous standards because our dogs deserve nothing less and neither do the families who welcome them home.
All breeding dogs are tested according to Poodle Club of America guidelines. This includes OFA clearances for hips and elbows, genetic testing, including PRA-PRCD, vWD, NE, and DM. Results are publicly available on the OFA database, complete with CHIC certification.
Each parent dog earns titles in conformation before breeding consideration. Our dogs hold UKC Grand Champion and/or AKC Championship titles, demonstrating adherence to breed standards for structure, movement, and type.
Standard poodles are versatile athletes and devoted companions. We value performance titles in AKC and UKC sporting events, therapy work, and other activities that demonstrate the breed's original working heritage. Training for retrieval, scent work, sporting, and companion activities ensures our dogs embody the full spectrum of poodle versatility.
We raise puppies using the Puppy Culture protocol, which includes early neurological stimulation, comprehensive socialization, temperament testing, and enrichment activities. All puppies are raised in our home from birth through placement.
Our commitment to our dogs lasts a lifetime. Any puppy we place will always have a place with us if their situation changes. We welcome them back with care and intention, offering support, time, and guidance. Placing a puppy begins a relationship; it never ends it.
We prioritize genetic diversity through careful pedigree analysis, monitoring Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI), and utilizing Better Bred tools for breeding decisions. Our selective, low-volume approach means we breed thoughtfully, not frequently. Each pairing is evaluated for what it contributes to breed health, longevity, and the betterment of future generations.
We believe the wellbeing of the dog depends on balance. All breeding decisions weigh health, structure, function, genetic diversity, and early development together, with no single priority elevated above the whole dog.
Poodles of the Pantheon is a small-scale breeding program. We produce 0 to 2 litters per year, and availability is limited. Finding the right match between puppy and family is our priority.
We ask that prospective families take time to understand our breeding philosophy, review our requirements, and consider whether a standard poodle from our program aligns with their lifestyle and expectations.
Once you've familiarized yourself with our program, we welcome your application. We review applications on a rolling basis and work to match puppies thoughtfully with families suited to their temperament and energy.
